Installing a Highland Canyon Muzzle brake is a short process that can easily be accomplished in your own shop!  Following our step-by-step instructions is crucial to ensure optimal performance and saftey throughout the installation.  

Installation of a Highland Canyon muzzle brake can easily be accomplished in your own shop! Be sure to follow the step-by-step instructions below to ensure installation is completed correctly for optimal performance and in the safest possible manner.

Tools Required for the Job:

• (2) Cresent wrenches*
• 3/4" Socket
• Torque wrench
• Spanner wrench (provided with purchase of muzzle brake)

*We recommend lining crescent wrench flats with masking tape or some other material to protect the brake finish.

Pre-Installation:

1. Before Installation, ensure that the firearm is unloaded and made safe.
2. If applicable, remove existing muzzle device and ensure the barrel shoulder and exposed barrel threads are clean and free of any contaminants or damage.
3. Ensure that the mating surfaces on the muzzle brake and lock ring are free of any contaminants, and that no components are damaged.
4. Screw inner member into outer body until finger tight.

Non-Integrated Lock Nut Installation:

1. Thread the lock ring onto the muzzle as far as possible with the deep counter-bore side towards the shooter; this portion will slide over the barrel. There must be full engagement between the lock nut and the muzzle threads.
2. Thread brake assembly onto barrel as close as possible to the lock nut, while maintaining the vent hole(s) in the twelve o'clock position.
3. While holding the brake body with a wrench, reverse the lock nut towards the brake assembly and tighten to approximately 10 foot-pounds.
4. Using the provided spanner wrench, tighten the inner member to 80 inch-pounds.  DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN!

Integrated Lock Nut Installation:

1. Thread brake assembly onto barrel as close as possible to end of barrel threading, while maintaining the vent hole(s) in the twelve o'clock position.
2. Reverse the lock nut towards the brake assembly and tighten to 5-10 foot-pounds.
3. Using provided spanner wrench, tighten inner member to 80 inch-pounds.  DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
